Capital Improvement Projects

Improving our community's quality of life for generations to come is a priority for all Town residents. A number of Capital Improvement Projects (CIP) are currently in the works to make Surfside safer, more enjoyable, and more resilient long term.

Mission Statement

The Town’s Capital Improvement Projects Services provides for the effective management and maintenance of the Town’s capital improvement projects as well as the management and supervision of these projects.

Capital Projects Fund

The Town maintains a fund which is used to provide revenues and expenditures associated with capital purchases related to governmental projects. The projects are capital items that serve general purposes and are not used by a specific enterprise, utility or special revenue fund.

The Five-Year Capital Improvement Plan encompasses all capital purchases across all funds, including general governmental and beyond, and identifies funding sources for each initiative. All costs are not necessarily paid by the Town as some projects may receive external funding from grant sources or partnership agreements.
