PLEASE BE ADVISED THAT THE PLANNING AND ZONING BOARD OF THE TOWN OF SURFSIDE, FLORIDA, ACTING AS THE TOWN’S LOCAL PLANNING AGENCY, WILL HOLD A VIRTUAL PLANNING AND ZONING BOARD MEETING ON THURSDAY, JANUARY 28, 2021 AT 6:00 PM UTILIZING COMMUNICATIONS MEDIA TECHNOLOGY DUE TO THE COVID-19 HEALTH EMERGENCY TO CONSIDER THE FOLLOWING ORDINANCES:

AN ORDINANCE OF THE TOWN COMMISSION OF THE TOWN OF SURFSIDE, FLORIDA AMENDING THE TOWN OF SURFSIDE CODE OF ORDINANCES BY AMENDING SECTION 90-41, “REGULATED USES”, TO CHANGE THE LIST OF PERMITTED ACCESSORY USES TO ALLOW PET GROOMING AS ACCESSORY TO RETAIL PET SUPPLIES IN THE SD-B40 ZONING DISTRICT AND PROVIDING FOR RELATED REGULATIONS; PROVIDING FOR SEVERABILITY; PROVIDING FOR INCLUSION IN THE CODE; PROVIDING FOR CONFLICTS; AND PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.

(A) On March 20, 2020, Governor DeSantis issued Executive Order 20-69, “Emergency Management - COVID-19 Local Government Public Meetings”; and
(B) Pursuant to Executive Order 20-69, the physical quorum and location requirements for public meetings are suspended, and the Town is authorized to hold public meetings
through the use of communications media technology, subject to the adoption of rules pursuant to Section 120.54(5)(b)2, Florida Statutes.
(C) The Town of Surfside has adopted rules of procedure for public meetings utilizing communications media technology by Emergency Order dated March 21, 2020.

The public may access the meeting by the methods prescribed above and provide public comment by submitting same to the Town Clerk at clerk@townofsurfsidefl.gov.

In accordance with the ADA persons with disabilities requiring accommodations in order to participate in this public hearing should contact the Office of the Town Clerk at (305) 861-4863 or at clerk@townofsurfsidefl.gov prior to such proceedings.

Any person who receives compensation, remuneration or expenses for conducting lobbying activities is required to register as a lobbyist with the Town Clerk prior to engaging in lobbying activities per Town Code Sec. 2-235. "Lobbyist" specifically includes the principal, as defined in this section, as well as any agent, officer or employee of a principal, regardless of whether such lobbying activities fall within the normal scope of employment of such agent, officer or employee. The term "lobbyist" specifically excludes any person who only appears as a representative of a not-for-profit corporation or entity (such as charitable organization, a trade association or trade union), without special compensation or reimbursement for the appearance, whether direct, indirect, or contingent, to express support or opposition to any item.
