The Surfside Police Department was recognized for achieving Excelsior Status on Feb. 20 by the Commission for Florida Law Enforcement Accreditation (CFA). This prestigious honor is for law enforcement agencies who have attained five (5) successful reaccreditation cycles, the equivalent of 15 years of accredited status.
The Surfside Police Department was initially accredited in 2009 and has continued to meet and exceed the standards set forth by the Commission. Chief of Police Enrique Doce, Accreditation Manager Jill Smith, and Sergeant Jay Matelis graciously attended the CFA Commission Meeting in St Augustine to accept this distinguished accolade on behalf of the Department.
